Dr. Joanne Allrich was born in Fullerton, Nebraska and grew up on a farmstead where her family raised crops and livestock. She graduated 8th grade from a one-room schoolhouse in a class of two. Attending high school at Fullerton she was active in sports, was class vice president and treasurer of her freshman and senior years. She received a scholarship to attend a private Presbyterian liberal arts college where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. She was president of her sorority her senior year and she worked for the USDA Meat Animal Research Center earning highest level of standing as a technician there. She was accepted to PU school of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1987. Her practice is focused on dogs and cats involving medicine and soft tissue surgery and education is continued in both areas annually. Her greatest success is soft tissue surgeries including laser technology where she performs many technically difficult procedures. She is married, has four children and two grandchildren, and is an active member of Kingsway Christian Church. Her interests include horseback riding, bike riding, snow skiing, jogging, color painting and landscaping. Loving all species of animals, her goal of practice includes not only helping animals but also forming close and long lasting bonds with families and their pets. She feels becoming a veterinarian has greatly enriched her life and give her a place of service in the community.

Dr. Frank C. Stokes, III grew up in Hendricks County and is a graduate of Tri-West High School. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1976 and within nine months of duty received one medal in marksmanship, one medal in ordinance, and was an honor graduate from advanced individual training school. He spent 13 months in Korea and one year in air defense school in El Paso Texas as head of instructors. He was offered a Warrant Officers Commission at he end of term service, which he turned down in order to return to college. He majored in genetics, with nutrition as a minor, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in 1983 from Purdue University. In 1987 he received his DVM degree from Purdue where he specialized in equine reproduction and surgery. He started Hendricks County Animal Hospital in 1987. He was the president of Hendricks County Animal Control Board from 1994 to 1998 where he revised all animal control policies and rabies quarantine procedures. He was the president of Hendricks County fair board Horse and Pony Committee from 1996 to 1999 where he was an integral part in the building of new makeup arenas and mini camps for children who desired to learn about horses. Since 1990, he has been the owner of Dr. Specks Veterinary Clinics in Greenwood, Anderson, and Avon. He is also the owner of Hillcrest Farms embryo transfer and stallion station, and Stokes Performance Horses and Equine Training Center. He opened the Animal Hospital of Cloverdale in 2005, which is a full service mixed animal practice. He has always had a special place in his heart for the ailing pet and has always wanted to help the community 24 hours a day. He made HCAH a 24-hour emergency clinic, a place where you could call and page a doctor for assistance, the only hospital of its kind in Hendricks County.
